SimGas solves problems faced by rural households in East Africa through innovative, scalable products and a forward-thinking business approach.

In my role as CTO, I led a team of six design engineers and was responsible for managing the product and service portfolio, shaping the innovation roadmap, and fostering the professional development of SimGas employees. I have contributed to several groundbreaking biogas related innovations, such as:

  • a fully plastic domestic biogas system: designed with a modular set of robust components, enabling digesters of various sizes to be easily assembled.
  • the first off-grid, biogas-powered milk chiller: a solution for farm-level milk preservation.
  • a remote monitoring system: capable of collecting and analyzing performance data from biogas systems locally.
  • a sanitation system for schools: utilizing anaerobic digestion of humanure for sustainable waste management.
